Fat Monk Deli-Bowls continues to grow in Munich: New franchise license awarded
Fat Monk Deli-Bowls is taking the next step in its expansion in Munich: After three established locations in the Bavarian capital, another franchise license has now been awarded.
Munich is a key reference market in Germany for the expansion of Fat Monk Deli-Bowls. The local development demonstrates how well the fast-casual concept works in high-traffic city center and shopping mall locations when location, local store marketing, and operations work together seamlessly. For StarDev, this reaffirms that the concept is scalable in Munich, and the pipeline for additional retail space is active.
Fat Monk Deli-Bowls stands for fresh, quickly prepared bowls in high-traffic urban locations. The brand originates from Vienna and is managed by the DoN group. In Germany and Austria, we support the development of locations and the expansion of the franchise network as a development partner.
The first store opened in 2024 in the Kaufingertor Passage, followed by the location at Stachus. Since November 2025, Fat Monk Deli-Bowls has also been present in the Pasing Arcades. Simultaneously, concrete discussions are underway regarding further locations and implementation possibilities in Munich.
New license: Experienced restaurant chain on board
Alban Emrulla has qualified for the newly awarded license. Already an entrepreneur and experienced restaurant chain owner, he is integrating Fat Monk Deli-Bowls as an additional business segment into his existing portfolio. Key factors for him include the clear franchisor structure, the feasibility of the concept in urban locations, and the close support we provide as a development partner.
Based on the lessons learned in Munich, we are continuing to drive our expansion beyond the region. At the same time, Munich remains a core market with high development potential, which we are strategically expanding.
